VARC is about reading speed and judgement. Build both through daily reading and regular sectional practice.
VARC preparation tips
- Read long-form articles daily (The Hindu, The Economist, HBR) to build speed on dense text.
- In RC, choose answers the passage supports; avoid options that go beyond it.
- For para jumbles, find the mandatory pairs first (pronouns, connectors, cause-effect) and eliminate options that break them.
- For para summary, pick the option that captures the main argument, not a side detail.
- Skip word lists; CAT does not test vocabulary directly.
Daily plan
- 1Read one long article (20-30 minutes).
- 2Solve 2 RC passages, then review why each wrong option is wrong.
- 3Practise 5 para jumbles or odd-sentence questions.
- 4Write a 3-line summary of what you read.

Do I need to learn vocabulary lists for CAT?+
No. CAT does not test vocabulary directly; reading habit matters more.
