ABES Engineering College Ranking 2027-28: NIRF, NAAC and NBA
Every NIRF band ABES has had since 2017, its NAAC grade, the three branches with NBA, and how much any of it should matter to you
Most private colleges in Ghaziabad don't have a NIRF result at all. ABES does. Its own NIRF page shows Engineering in the 201-300 band for 2024, and bands going all the way back to 2017. Add NAAC Grade A and NBA on three branches, and the paperwork looks good. Better than most in this fee range, if we're being fair.
Now the bit people skip. A band isn't a rank. Nobody at NIRF ranked ABES 201st, or 250th, or anything else. It's somewhere inside a hundred places, and that's all you know. So when a website says "ABES NIRF rank 201", it invented that.
We'll go through each one below. What year it's from, when it runs out, and whether it should change your decision. If you're choosing a branch, read the NBA part twice. Only three of the six have it.
ABES Engineering College Rankings and Recognitions
All of ABES's NIRF bands and accreditations in one place, each with its year.
| Body | Category or Focus | Position / Status |
|---|---|---|
| NIRF 2024 | Engineering | 201-300 band |
| NIRF 2023 | Innovation | 151-300 band |
| NIRF 2022 | Engineering | 251-300 band |
| NIRF 2021 | Engineering | 251-300 band |
| NIRF 2020 | Engineering | 201-250 band |
| NIRF 2017 | Engineering | 151-200 band |
| NAAC | Whole-college quality assessment | Grade A, May 2022 |
| NBA | B.Tech CSE | Accredited up to December 2028 |
| NBA | B.Tech ECE and Mechanical | Accredited up to June 2028 |
| AICTE | Approval to run technical programmes | In the mandatory disclosures |

Every NIRF line is a band. That's how NIRF reports anyone outside its top 200.
ABES Recognitions at a Glance
Comparing four colleges tonight? This is the short version.
If one line should affect your branch choice, it's the NBA line. NIRF applies to everyone equally.
- NIRF Engineering 2024: 201-300 band. The latest Engineering result ABES shows.
- Best band so far: 151-200, back in 2017. Nothing since has beaten it.
- NIRF Innovation 2023: 151-300. Separate category, so don't compare it with Engineering.
- NAAC Grade A: May 2022, for the college as a whole.
- NBA on three branches: CSE till December 2028; ECE and Mechanical till June 2028.
- Autonomous since 2025: The college now runs more of its own syllabus and exams.
ABES NIRF Ranking: What the Bands Actually Say
NIRF is the Ministry of Education's ranking. It scores colleges on teaching, research, graduate outcomes, outreach and perception. ABES was 201-300 in Engineering for 2024. Before that: 251-300 in 2022 and in 2021, 201-250 in 2020, and 151-200 in 2017. Read it top to bottom and the honest word is "slipping", with a small recovery in 2024. We don't think that's a reason to avoid the college. We do think it's a reason not to believe anyone who calls ABES "top ranked". And 2025 is its own edition. Don't carry the 2024 band forward. Open the 2025 list and search for the name yourself.
ABES NAAC Accreditation
NAAC gave ABES Grade A in May 2022. That's a good grade. It's not the top one, though: A+ and A++ sit above it, and some colleges nearby claim those. NAAC grades also expire after a cycle, and May 2022 is a while ago now. So ask to see the certificate and look at the dates. If reaccreditation is pending, you'd want to know that before you pay ₹1,81,200.
ABES NBA Accreditation: Only Three Branches
This is the one that matters for your branch. NBA checks programmes one at a time, not colleges. At ABES, B.Tech CSE is accredited till December 2028. ECE and Mechanical, till June 2028. Good news if you're joining in 2027-28, since all three dates run past your second year. What's missing? AI-ML, Data Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering. That's half the branches, and two of them are exactly what students queue up for. If NBA matters to you, plain CSE has it. The specialisations don't.
ABES AICTE Approval and Autonomous Status
No AICTE approval, no engineering course. Simple as that. ABES keeps its AICTE and affiliation papers in the mandatory disclosures instead of putting one letter on the ranking page. Then there's autonomy. The admissions portal says ABES has been autonomous since 2025. In plain terms, the college writes more of its own syllabus and sets its own exams. Two questions worth asking at admission: which letter covers 2027-28, and who sets your semester papers now.
Accreditation, Approval and Ranking Are Three Different Things
Websites mix these up all the time. Approval means the college is allowed to run the course. Accreditation, which is NAAC and NBA, means someone checked quality against a standard and gave a grade. Ranking, which is NIRF, puts colleges in order against each other. You can have the first two and no ranking at all. ABES happens to have all three. For a private college in this bracket, that's rarer than you'd think.
How to Verify Every Claim on This Page Yourself
Don't trust us. Check. For NIRF, open the official site, pick Engineering and the year, and search "ABES". Found in a band? That's the result. Not there at all? Not ranked that year. For NAAC, get the certificate and match it on NAAC's website. For NBA, look at the branch name and the "valid up to" date on the college's NBA page. For AICTE, ask for the letter for your year. Takes maybe twenty minutes in total.
Why ABES Shows Bands Instead of a Rank Number
"What's the ABES rank?" We get it every week. Short answer: there isn't one. Longer answer:
- NIRF only gives exact numbers near the top. Below that, it's bands, and ABES has always been in the band zone.
- A 201-300 band means somewhere in those hundred places. That's it.
- Innovation and Engineering are different lists with different rules. The 2023 Innovation band doesn't compare to anything else here.
- NAAC and NBA grade a college against a fixed bar. They never put anyone in an order.
- Private ranking sites use their own formulas, so the same college looks different on each.
How Strong Is ABES's Standing, Honestly?
Stronger than most Ghaziabad private colleges, on paper. A NIRF band, NAAC Grade A, NBA running to 2028, autonomy. Few colleges at ₹1,81,200 can show all four. Weaker spots? Grade A isn't the top NAAC band. The NIRF bands have drifted down since 2017. And half the branches lack NBA. Our take: the paperwork easily earns ABES a place on your list. It shouldn't be what decides between ABES and the next college. Your branch, the fee and the placement numbers should.
ABES NIRF and Accreditation Timeline
Everything in date order, so you can see which way it's been going.
| Year or Period | Recognition | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2000 | College set up under the Society for Educational Excellence | Running since |
| 2017 | NIRF Engineering | 151-200, best so far |
| 2020 | NIRF Engineering | 201-250 |
| 2021 | NIRF Engineering | 251-300 |
| 2022 | NIRF Engineering | 251-300 |
| May 2022 | NAAC | Grade A |
| 2023 | NIRF Innovation | 151-300 |
| 2024 | NIRF Engineering | 201-300, latest shown |
| 2025 | Academic status | Autonomous from this year |
| Up to June 2028 | NBA, B.Tech ECE and Mechanical | Valid |

At admission, ask for three things: the latest NIRF result, the NAAC certificate with dates, and the AICTE letter for 2027-28.
What You Should Know Before Using ABES Rankings
Five things before you let the badges sway you.
- 201-300 is a range. Anyone quoting an exact ABES rank made it up.
- NAAC Grade A is about the whole college. It says nothing about how well your branch is taught.
- NBA: CSE, ECE and Mechanical. Not AI-ML, Data Science, or Electrical and Computer.
- Fee is ₹1,81,200 with a ₹5,000 refundable deposit. You're not paying extra for the badges.
- ₹45 LPA is the top offer. ₹4.50 LPA is the median. The second one is you, probably.
ABES Programmes Compared on Recognition and Cost
Same college, four groups of courses, quite different pictures.
| Particulars | B.Tech (NBA branches) | B.Tech (other branches) | BCA | MCA and M.Tech |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Courses | CSE, ECE, Mechanical | CSE (AI and ML), CSE (Data Science), Electrical and Computer Engineering | BCA | MCA, M.Tech CSE, M.Tech ECE |
| Seats listed | 900 + 180 + 60 | 360 + 180 + 120 | 120 | 180 + 12 + 6 |
| NBA status | Accredited to 2028 | Not listed | Not listed | Not listed |
| Published academic fee | ₹1,81,200 | ₹1,81,200 | ₹1,66,200 | ₹1,81,200 |
| Published outcome data | Department pages | Department pages | Ask the department | MCA 2025: 140 placements, ₹12.93 LPA top |
Fees are the 2026-27 figures, the newest out. The 2027-28 sheet will follow.
What Each Body Actually Measures
- NIRF: Teaching, research, graduate outcomes, outreach and perception, compared college against college.
- NAAC: Syllabus, teaching, exams, research, buildings, student support and how the place is run.
- NBA: One programme at a time: outcomes, syllabus, faculty and how students actually perform.
- AICTE: Land, buildings, labs, faculty numbers and how many seats a course can have.
Mistakes Students Make With ABES Rankings
- Turning a 201-300 band into "rank 201".
- Using the 2024 band as if it were this year's.
- Comparing the 2023 Innovation band with an Engineering year.
- Thinking all six branches have NBA. Three do.
- Reading Grade A as NAAC's top grade. It isn't.
- Choosing on badges and never opening the placement page.
Is ABES Worth It Based on Rankings?
On recognition alone, ABES does well for a private college: NIRF band, NAAC Grade A, NBA till 2028 on three branches. It's not perfect. Grade A isn't the top band, NIRF has slipped since 2017, and three branches have no NBA. Let the badges put ABES on your shortlist. Then let your branch, the fee and the median salary pick the winner.
- Good fit for: students who want a Ghaziabad B.Tech with real NIRF and NBA papers behind it.
- Biggest strength: NBA on CSE, ECE and Mechanical, valid into 2028.
- Check first: NBA for your branch, and the NAAC certificate's dates.
