Updated on October 2026

ABES sits on 15.77 acres along NH-09, which isn't much land for a college with eight thousand students. The upside of that is everything is close by. Classrooms are air-conditioned, there's a fairly large library, eight hostels, seven canteens, and (this one surprised us) a swimming pool and a floodlit stadium. A couple of things we'd flag before anything else. Hostel rooms are given out on a first-come basis, so turning up late on reporting day can leave you with whatever's left. And we couldn't find any bus routes on the college website, so if you're planning to travel from home every day, sort that out before you decide.

Infrastructure / Facilities

Departmental Laboratories

Labs are run by each department, so your lab experience depends on your branch. CSE and the two CSE specialisations are mostly in computer labs, ECE gets circuit and embedded kits, Mechanical gets workshop machines. Departments also have tutorial rooms and project spaces. If you get a chance to visit, the useful thing to find out is how many students share one machine or kit during a practical, because that number varies a lot between colleges and the website photos won't show it.

AC Classrooms and Teaching Spaces

Classrooms come with ceiling projectors, and the college says they're air-conditioned too. Anyone who has sat through a 2 pm lecture in a Ghaziabad summer knows that matters more than it sounds. We'd still check whether that's true for every room or mainly the newer buildings.

Central Library and E-Resources

The library is the one facility ABES gives proper detail on. It's 1,565 sq m, with a 400 sq m reading hall and around 250 seats, and holds over 115,000 books along with 1,224 e-journals and 8,000-odd e-books. Catalogue runs on KOHA. The part students tend to like is remote login, so you can pull up a journal paper from your hostel room late at night without walking over.

Auditorium, Seminar Halls and Open-Air Theatre

There's an auditorium for the bigger events, five seminar halls, and an open-air theatre that gets used for cultural nights. Most of your project presentations and guest lectures will happen in the seminar halls. ABES also hosts some national and international conferences, which is worth keeping in mind if you ever want to present a paper while still in college.

Six Boys' Hostels

Boys have six hostels to choose from, with both AC and non-AC rooms in four, three and two sharing. Prices for 2026-27 run from ₹1,36,500 (non-AC, four sharing) up to ₹1,77,500 (AC, two sharing), and that already covers food, laundry, registration and a ₹5,000 security deposit. Since rooms are allotted first-come, the cheaper four-sharing rooms and the handful with attached bathrooms tend to fill up early in the week.

Two Girls' Hostels

Girls have two hostels, and only AC rooms are listed: ₹1,48,000 for four sharing, ₹1,64,000 for three, ₹1,77,500 for two. Two hostels isn't a lot for a college this size, so availability is probably the first thing to check. Parents usually want to know about in-time, visitor rules and who the warden is, and that's information you'll get from the hostel office rather than the brochure.

Seven Canteens and Seven Messes

Seven canteens and seven messes on a campus of under 16 acres means food is never far. Hostel students already have meals included in their fee, while day scholars mostly use the canteens. One thing that comes up a lot with engineering students is missing dinner because a lab ran late, so it's worth finding out how strict the mess timings are.

Swimming Pool and Floodlit Stadium

We genuinely didn't expect a swimming pool here. Not many private engineering colleges in this part of NCR have one. The stadium has floodlights, which matters because by the time classes and labs finish it's often getting dark. We don't know if the pool has fixed slots or any extra charge, so that's something to find out.

Courts, Indoor Games and Gym

Outdoors there are courts for lawn tennis, basketball, badminton and table tennis. The college also lists chess, athletics, shot put, javelin and snooker, and the hostels have a gym. Day scholars sometimes find hostel gyms are residents-only, so if you're commuting, check that.

Medical Room, Doctor and Ambulance

There's a medical room with a doctor, plus an ambulance. That'll handle the usual fever before exams or a sprained ankle from basketball. The website doesn't mention the doctor's timings, which hospital they'd take you to in an emergency, or whether there's any insurance tied to the ₹500 welfare charge. For hostel students especially, knowing what happens at night is the bit that counts.

Counselling, Yoga and Meditation

Counselling is done through YourDost, which is an online service, not a counsellor sitting in an office on campus. There are yoga and meditation sessions as well. First year away from home is harder for a lot of students than they let on, so it's good there's something in place, as long as students know about it and trust that it's private.

Student Clubs and Campus Fests

The big events you'll hear about are TEDx, Genero, TechFest and Utsaah. Clubs cover sports, culture, writing, debate, photography, the environment and social work. If you join just one club in your first year and actually stay in it, you'll have something real to talk about when an interviewer asks what you did outside class, which a surprising number of students don't.

Hostel Laundry, Gym and Guest House

Laundry is ₹3,500 a year and already part of the hostel fee. Hostels have a gym, and there's a guest house on campus, which parents travelling from outside NCR usually find useful on reporting day or for a parents' meeting. We'd check how far ahead it needs booking, and how many times a week laundry actually gets picked up.

Research, Patents and Sponsored Projects

ABES puts out research figures on its homepage, things like Scopus papers, patents and sponsored projects. For a B.Tech student, the practical value is that a department with funded projects usually has better equipment and sometimes takes students on as project helpers. Getting onto one of those in second or third year looks a lot better on a CV than a NIRF band does.

Commuting, Transport and Campus Access

ABES is right on NH-09, so it's easy to reach by road. What we couldn't find was a list of college bus routes or a transport fee anywhere on the website, and the admission material just says to check whether transport is available for your route. So please don't assume there's a bus. A quick call to 0120-7135112 will tell you, and if there's nothing on your route, the hostel might work out cheaper than you'd think once you add up daily travel.
