Location & Map
If you've been looking at private engineering colleges around Ghaziabad, ABES has probably come up more than once. It sits on NH-09, it's been around since 2000, and it's mostly a computer science college now, whatever the prospectus says. Out of 1,800 B.Tech seats, 1,440 are CSE or one of its two specialisations. On paper it looks better than most of its neighbours: a NIRF Engineering band in 2024, NAAC Grade A, and NBA on three branches till 2028. Two numbers to keep in your head while you read. The fee on the latest table is ₹1,81,200. The median salary the college itself publishes is ₹4.50 LPA.
How ABES Started
ABES opened in 2000 under the Society for Educational Excellence. Twenty-six years on, it says it has 8,090 students and more than 24,000 alumni, all on a campus of 15.77 acres. Put those two figures side by side and you get the feel of the place before you even visit: a lot of people, not much land. Everything is a short walk, which students who've been to sprawling campuses tend to like. In 2025 the college became autonomous, according to its admissions portal. That's the biggest change in years, and we explain what it means for you further down.
Approvals, Accreditation and Academic Status
Here's where ABES is genuinely stronger than a lot of colleges in its fee range. AICTE approval and affiliation papers sit in the mandatory disclosures on the website. NAAC gave the whole college Grade A in May 2022. NBA, which goes branch by branch, covers three B.Tech programmes. The catch? Two of the three branches students actually fight for, AI-ML and Data Science, aren't among them. When you report, ask which affiliation letter and which academic regulations apply to the 2027-28 batch. It's a two-minute question.
| Programme | Approval or Accreditation | Status |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech CSE | AICTE approved; NBA | NBA up to December 2028 |
| B.Tech ECE and Mechanical | AICTE approved; NBA | NBA up to June 2028 |
| B.Tech CSE (AI and ML), CSE (Data Science), Electrical and Computer | AICTE approved | Not on the NBA list |
| BCA, MCA, M.Tech | AICTE approved | Check the programme notice |
| Whole college | NAAC | Grade A, May 2022 |
| Whole college | Academic status | Autonomous since 2025 |
Where Is ABES Located?
The address is 19th KM Stone, NH-09, Ghaziabad 201009. Being right on the highway makes it easy to reach by road from most of Delhi NCR. What we couldn't find anywhere on the official pages is a bus route list or a transport fee. So if you're planning to live at home and travel daily, call the college before you decide. Don't just assume there's a bus.
- •On the NH-09 corridor in Ghaziabad, inside Delhi NCR.
- •Small 15.77-acre campus, so you won't walk far between class, hostel and canteen.
- •No published college bus routes or transport charges.
- •Six hostels for boys and two for girls, all on campus.

FAQs — ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad: Overview for 2027-28
2000. It runs under the Society for Educational Excellence.
No, it's private. Since 2025 the admissions portal calls it autonomous, which is a different thing from being government-run.
Yes, Grade A, from May 2022. NAAC grades expire after a cycle, so look at the dates printed on the certificate.
15.77 acres. Compact.
Phone 0120-7135112, or write to info@abes.ac.in.
The course list won't take you long to read. Six B.Tech branches, lateral entry, two Working Professional programmes, BCA, MCA, and M.Tech in just two subjects. People ask us about an MBA here all the time. There isn't one. That's ABES Business School, a separate institution with its own admissions.

Which Course Fits You
Honestly, if you like coding and you're not sure about a specialisation, take plain CSE. It keeps every door open and it's the only computing branch with NBA. AI-ML and Data Science make sense when you already know that's the subject you want for four years. Want hardware or machines? ECE and Mechanical both carry NBA, though Mechanical has just 60 seats. BCA is the cheaper way into computing. And MCA, quietly, has the best department placement numbers the college publishes.
- •Coding and software: CSE first, AI-ML or Data Science next.
- •Electronics and embedded systems: ECE.
- •Machines and manufacturing: Mechanical, if you're fine with a small batch.
- •Graduate with Maths who wants a software job: MCA.
FAQs — ABES Courses and Seats 2027-28
1,800. Half of them, 900, are plain CSE.
Not at the engineering college. Go to ABES Business School for that.
No. Civil isn't on the current list.
Since 2025, ABES has had more control over what it teaches and how it tests you, because it's autonomous now. Day to day, you'll be in AC classrooms with projectors, and your department runs its own labs.
What Supports Your Learning
| Label | Text |
|---|---|
| Classrooms | AC rooms with ceiling-mounted LCD projectors and audio-visual aids. |
| Labs | Department and curriculum labs, tutorial rooms and project spaces. |
| Library | 1,565 sq m, 250 seats, 115,000+ books, 1,224 e-journals, 8,000+ e-books, remote login. |
| Events | Auditorium, five seminar halls, open-air theatre; national and international conferences. |
| Research | Scopus publications, patents and sponsored research reported by the college. |
What Autonomy Means for You
In practice, an autonomous college writes most of its own syllabus and sets its own semester papers. Good side: the curriculum can change faster. Other side: rules on attendance, backlogs and grading are the college's own, and they're not the same as a university's. We've met students who only read those rules after something went wrong. Get the academic regulations at reporting and read them in the first week.
FAQs — How Teaching Works at ABES
Yes, from 2025, going by the admissions portal.
Usually the college itself, under autonomy. Confirm it for your batch.
ABES uses one fee table for B.Tech, lateral entry, M.Tech and MCA, and it adds up to ₹1,81,200 with a ₹5,000 refundable deposit inside. BCA comes to ₹1,66,200. These are the 2026-27 numbers, the newest available. One thing bugged us: the page never says plainly whether that's per year. Ask the accounts office for the second-year amount before you sign up for four years.
Course-wise Academic Fee
| Course | Published Fee |
|---|---|
| B.Tech (all six branches) | ₹1,81,200 |
| B.Tech lateral entry | ₹1,81,200 |
| MCA | ₹1,81,200 |
| M.Tech | ₹1,81,200 |
| BCA | ₹1,66,200 |
| B.Tech Working Professional | ₹1,19,880 plus ₹3,100, ₹5,000 and ₹9,600 listed separately |
Where the ₹1,81,200 Goes
Tuition is ₹1,10,000 of it. The line that surprises parents is career planning and development at ₹36,000, roughly a fifth of the bill. Then come exams at ₹9,600, technology at ₹6,000, industry engagement at ₹6,000, the book bank at ₹5,000, admission paperwork at ₹3,100 and welfare and insurance at ₹500. The last ₹5,000 is the deposit you get back. If you're paying ₹42,000 a year for career and industry stuff, use it.
Hostel Fees
| Room | Boys non-AC | Boys AC | Girls AC |
|---|---|---|---|
| Four-seater | ₹1,36,500 | ₹1,48,000 | ₹1,48,000 |
| Triple-seater | ₹1,43,000 | ₹1,64,000 | ₹1,64,000 |
| Double-seater | ₹1,54,500 | ₹1,77,500 | ₹1,77,500 |
Other Costs
- •Uniform: ₹9,900, and they want it in cash.
- •Every hostel total already has ₹500 registration, ₹3,500 laundry and ₹5,000 refundable security in it.
- •Paid ₹20,000 or ₹12,000 in counselling? You only owe the balance.
- •No cheques, no cash for the academic fee. Online channel only.
FAQs — ABES Fee Structure 2027-28
₹1,81,200 on the latest table. Same for all six branches.
No, that's extra: ₹1,36,500 to ₹1,77,500 depending on the room.
No. Pay through the channel the college publishes.
For B.Tech, 85 out of every 100 seats go through counselling on your JEE Main rank. The other 15 or so go through the college's own direct admission, and that's not the easy route people think it is. You get shortlisted on your Class 12 marks and your JEE score, then you sit an interview. Other courses run on CUET or GATE.
Eligibility
| Course | Minimum | Route |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech | 45% in Class 12 PCM group (40% reserved) | JEE Main / UPTAC or direct |
| Lateral entry | 45% in diploma or B.Sc. (40% SC/ST) | CUET (UG) |
| BCA | As per BCA notice | CUET (UG) |
| MCA | 50% in graduation with Maths (45% SC/ST) | CUET (PG) |
| M.Tech | 50% in a relevant degree (45% reserved) | GATE, CUET (PG), institution merit |
The Steps
- •Look up your course's eligibility and fee tab on the official courses page.
- •Sit the exam your course needs: JEE Main, CUET or GATE.
- •Register on UPTAC, or fill the college's own form, or do both.
- •Turn up for reporting with originals, photocopy sets, the fee, and ₹9,900 in cash for the uniform.
Direct Admission Is Not a Shortcut
We get this question every week. Can I skip JEE and go direct? Not really. The college uses your JEE score or rank to shortlist even on the direct route, and then there's an interview. Think of it as a second shot at the same college, not a back door.
FAQs — ABES Admission Process 2027-28
For counselling, yes. The direct route uses it too, for shortlisting.
Yes. Lateral entry puts you straight into second year.
Sorry to disappoint, but there's no one ABES cutoff. Every branch, category, quota and round closes at its own JEE rank. And the 2027-28 list doesn't exist yet, because counselling hasn't happened. Your best guide is last year's UPTAC opening and closing rank document.
What to Expect by Branch
| Branch | Seats | Demand |
|---|---|---|
| CSE | 900 | Highest, tightest closing rank |
| CSE (AI and ML) | 360 | Very high |
| CSE (Data Science) | 180 | High |
| ECE | 180 | Moderate |
| Electrical and Computer | 120 | Lower |
| Mechanical | 60 | Lowest, but few seats |
How to Check Your Rank
Download the UPTAC B.Tech opening and closing rank PDF, hit Ctrl+F, and type ABES. Find your branch, your category, your quota and the round. Write both numbers down. Then repeat it for the year before. With two years in front of you, you'll see whether things are getting tighter or easier.
FAQs — ABES Cutoff 2027-28
It moves every year. Look up your category in the UPTAC document.
No. It only means you're allowed to apply.
Credit where it's due: ABES publishes more placement detail than most colleges around it. The banner says ₹45 LPA. The median, a few lines below on the same site, says ₹4.50 LPA. One of those is one student. The other is the student in the middle. Guess which one to plan around.
Published Figures
| Measure | Figure |
|---|---|
| Companies | 489 (placement page); 500+ (homepage) |
| Placements | 1,289 |
| Offers | 1,870 |
| Placement rate | 80.06% |
| Median salary | ₹4.50 LPA |
| Highest package | ₹45 LPA (2025-26) |
Offer Bands
The homepage splits offers into bands: 444 between ₹5 and 7 LPA, 270 between ₹7 and 9 LPA, and 89 at ₹10 LPA or more. Add them up and you get 803. Total offers were 1,870. So more than a thousand offers aren't in any band, and with a ₹4.50 LPA median, most of those are probably below ₹5 LPA. Nobody puts that on a banner.
Branch Snapshots
| Department | 2025 snapshot |
|---|---|
| ECE | 88 placements, 121 offers, 101 companies, 66.67%, ₹7.65 LPA top |
| MCA | 140 placements, 182 offers, 113 companies, 77.78%, ₹12.93 LPA top |
Recruiters
The logo wall is impressive: Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, Google, Goldman Sachs, Cisco, Amazon, Texas Instruments, plus TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini and DXC doing the bulk hiring. The biggest offer in the published history was ₹59.9 LPA at Atlassian, back in 2023-24. Real offer. Also three batches old.
FAQs — ABES Placement Record
₹45 LPA, on the 2025-26 placement page.
₹4.50 LPA. It's on the homepage placement glimpse.
An older homepage snapshot for 2025 showed ₹60 LPA and 1,692 offers. Different batch, different date. Don't mix them.
ABES actually has NIRF results, which plenty of colleges nearby can't say. They're bands though, not ranks. If a website tells you "ABES NIRF rank 201", it made that number up.
NIRF Record
| Year | Category | Band |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 | Engineering | 201-300 |
| 2023 | Innovation | 151-300 |
| 2022 | Engineering | 251-300 |
| 2021 | Engineering | 251-300 |
| 2020 | Engineering | 201-250 |
| 2017 | Engineering | 151-200 |
FAQs — ABES Rankings and Recognition
It's in the 201-300 band for Engineering in 2024. No exact number exists.
CSE till December 2028. ECE and Mechanical till June 2028.
We looked hard for a merit scholarship slab on ABES's pages, the kind where 90% in Class 12 gets you a discount. Didn't find one. So budget the full fee. What you can get is government scholarships you apply for yourself, and some genuine help if you're doing a postgraduate course.
What Exists
| Route | Detail |
|---|---|
| UP Government Scholarship | Fresh and renewal notices published each session |
| Central schemes on NSP | Including the PM-USP Central Sector Scheme |
| AICTE and MHRD PG scheme | For M.Tech candidates with a valid GATE score |
| College PG stipend | ₹7,000 in year one, ₹8,000 in year two, for chosen non-GATE direct students |
| Company award | A full year's tuition paid for two third-year Mechanical students |
Plan Like This
Government money doesn't reach you on fee day. It usually lands in your bank account months later. So pay the fee in full first, apply the day the portal opens, and if the money comes, treat it as a refund. That way your seat never depends on a sanction letter.
FAQs — Scholarships and Financial Support at ABES
Not that we could find on its pages. Ask admissions and get the answer in writing.
Yes, the AICTE and MHRD postgraduate scheme may cover you.
For 15.77 acres, ABES packs in a lot. A swimming pool and a floodlit stadium, which you rarely see at private colleges this size. Seven canteens. A big library. And one obvious gap, which we'll get to.
Facilities List
| Facility | Detail |
|---|---|
| Library | 1,565 sq m, 250 seats, 115,000+ books, KOHA and OPAC |
| Hostels | Six for boys, two for girls, first-come first-served |
| Food | Seven canteens and seven messes |
| Sports | Swimming pool, floodlit stadium, tennis, basketball, badminton, table tennis |
| Health | Medical room, doctor, ambulance; counselling through YourDost |
| Events | Auditorium, five seminar halls, open-air theatre |
Student Life
You'll hear about TEDx, Genero, TechFest and Utsaah within your first month. There are clubs for sport, culture, debate, writing, photography and the environment. Our advice is boring but it works: join one club in your first semester and stick with it. Interviewers remember the student who ran something.
What Is Missing
Transport. We couldn't find a bus route or a transport fee anywhere. If you plan to travel daily, call 0120-7135112 and ask before you pick commuting over the hostel.
FAQs — ABES Campus and Facilities
Yes. It's listed on the campus-life page.
First come, first served. Apply the same day your seat is confirmed.
Short answer: for computing, ABES is one of the safer private bets in Ghaziabad. Strong paperwork, a placement cell that actually works, and the same fee for every branch. The downsides are just as clear. A ₹4.50 LPA median, no merit discount, and NBA on only half the branches.
Reasons Students Shortlist ABES
| Label | Text |
|---|---|
| Since 2000 | Over 25 years running engineering courses in Ghaziabad. |
| NIRF band | Engineering 201-300 in 2024, with results back to 2017. |
| NBA to 2028 | CSE, ECE and Mechanical accredited. |
| Flat fee | ₹1,81,200 for every B.Tech branch. |
| Big CSE intake | 900 CSE seats, 1,440 across computing branches. |
| Open data | Offer bands, median and department snapshots published. |
Who Should Think Twice
Want Civil? It's not here. Want a core branch with lots of classmates? Mechanical has 60 seats. Counting on a merit discount to make the numbers work? There isn't one published. And if you'll be commuting, sort out transport first, because the college doesn't publish any routes.
