ABES Courses 2027-28: B.Tech, BCA, MCA, M.Tech Seats and Fees

You can read ABES's whole course list in about ten seconds. Six B.Tech branches, lateral entry into second year, a Working Professional B.Tech in two branches, BCA, MCA, and M.Tech in CSE and ECE. Done. We get asked about an MBA here almost every week. There isn't one at this college. That's ABES Business School, a separate place with separate admissions.

The seat count tells you what kind of college you're looking at. 1,800 B.Tech seats. 900 are plain CSE. Another 540 are AI-ML and Data Science. So about four out of every five B.Tech students here are studying some flavour of computer science. ECE gets 180, Electrical and Computer gets 120, and Mechanical gets just 60. If you want a core branch with a big, busy department, that's worth a pause. If you want computing, this place is built around you.

Money first, since everyone asks: B.Tech, lateral entry, M.Tech and MCA all sit on the same ₹1,81,200 fee table, and ₹5,000 of that comes back at the end. BCA is ₹1,66,200. Below, we take each course one at a time. What you'll actually study, how many seats there are, how you get in, what the placement data says where ABES publishes any, and whether it has NBA. Only three of the six B.Tech branches do, and that's worth knowing before choice filling.

ABES Admission 2027-28: How Courses Are Filled

No 2027-28 dates yet. The way seats get filled barely changes year to year, though, so you can plan with this.

  • B.Tech: about 85% of seats through JEE Main counselling, up to 15% through the college's own admission with a shortlist and an interview.
  • Lateral entry and BCA: CUET (UG).
  • MCA: CUET (PG), 180 seats.
  • M.Tech: GATE holders first, then CUET (PG), then the college's own merit list.
  • Working Professional B.Tech: its own process, its own rules, and you need work experience.

For final dates, trust only the official courses page and the UPTAC portal. Date lists you see elsewhere right now are guesses.

Departments and Programme Groups at ABES

ABES doesn't split into schools. It's all departments, and here's what each one runs.

  • Computer Science and Engineering: B.Tech CSE, B.Tech CSE Working Professional, M.Tech CSE
  • CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning): B.Tech CSE (AI and ML)
  • CSE (Data Science): B.Tech CSE (Data Science)
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering: B.Tech ECE, B.Tech ECE Working Professional, M.Tech ECE
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering: B.Tech Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering: B.Tech Mechanical
  • Computer Applications: BCA and MCA

Every department has its own labs and its own placement page. Read your department's page, not just the homepage. The numbers are often quite different.

Streams You Can Study at ABES

Seven in total.

  • Computer Science and Engineering
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Data Science
  • Electronics and Communication Engineering
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Computer Applications

No Civil. No separate IT. No MBA. It's a narrow list, and the college seems happy keeping it that way.

ABES Courses Explained One by One

B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at ABES

The course most people mean when they say "ABES". Half of all B.Tech seats, and NBA till December 2028.

Eight semesters of the core computing stuff: programming, data structures and algorithms, databases, operating systems, computer networks and software engineering. Under autonomy, ABES now shapes more of this syllabus itself, so the electives in third and fourth year are worth asking about before you join. That's where the course starts to look different from what every other college teaches.

900 seats is a huge batch. On the plus side, recruiters build their visits around CSE. Microsoft, Adobe, Atlassian, Google, Amazon and Cisco are all on the college's list, and the services firms like TCS, Infosys, Accenture and Cognizant hire in bulk. On the minus side, you're competing with 899 classmates for every one of those drives, so CGPA and coding practice decide who even gets to sit the test.

CSE is the only computing branch at ABES with NBA. AI-ML and Data Science don't have it. For most private-sector jobs nobody checks, but some government jobs, higher-study routes abroad and a few employers do care. If you're unsure which CSE to pick, this one keeps every door open.

Most graduates end up as software developers, systems engineers, testers or in cloud and support roles. The typical first salary at ABES, going by the college's own median, is around ₹4.5 lakh. The 89 offers above ₹10 LPA in the latest snapshot mostly go to CSE students who started DSA practice in second year, not final year.

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Seats: 900
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200 on the published table
  • NBA: accredited up to December 2028
  • Entry: JEE Main / UPTAC or direct admission

Career planning and development₹36,000
Other heads₹30,200

Published total₹1,81,200

B.Tech CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning)

CSE with machine learning and AI on top. 360 seats, the second-biggest branch at ABES.

For the first two years, honestly, you'll hardly notice a difference from plain CSE. Same programming, same maths, same data structures. The AI part shows up later through subjects on machine learning, data-driven models and intelligent systems, and through your projects. If you're not going to put in the extra work on those projects, the specialisation doesn't buy you much.

It's the branch students usually pick when plain CSE closes before their rank. That's fine, it's a perfectly good branch. Just know that it doesn't carry NBA, and the fee is exactly the same as CSE.

Placement-wise, software companies usually let all three CSE branches sit for the same drives, so you're in the same pool as CSE. Where AI-ML can help is in interviews for data and ML roles, but only if you can show something you've actually built, like a model on a real dataset or a small app using one.

Typical roles: software developer, AI and ML engineering support, automation, data-oriented roles. ML engineer jobs straight out of a B.Tech are fewer than the brochures suggest, so keep software development as your fallback skill.

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Seats: 360
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • NBA: not listed
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000
Published total₹1,81,200

B.Tech CSE (Data Science)

Programming plus a lot more statistics and data work. 180 seats.

Data Science leans further into maths than plain CSE. Statistics, databases, data processing, analytics and visualisation take up a good chunk of the later semesters. If 12th-class maths was your weakest subject, think about that honestly before you put this above CSE in your choice list.

The department deserves a mention here. It publishes batch-wise placement data for three batches, 2020-24, 2021-25 and 2022-26. Most colleges don't do that for a single branch. Just note the 2022-26 figure is still running, so it'll change.

Graduates usually go into data analyst, business intelligence or junior data engineering jobs. Those roles exist in most big services firms and analytics companies, and the starting pay is broadly similar to software roles.

No NBA. Same ₹1,81,200 fee as every other B.Tech branch.

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Seats: 180
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • NBA: not listed

B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering

Circuits, chips, signals and communication. 180 seats, NBA till June 2028.

ECE covers electronic circuits, digital systems, communication networks, embedded systems and signal processing. It's harder than it looks from outside, especially the signals and electromagnetics part, and it suits students who actually like knowing how the hardware works.

What we like about ECE at ABES is that the department is honest about its numbers. Its 2025 page shows 88 students placed, 121 offers, 101 companies visiting, 66.67% placement and a top offer of ₹7.65 LPA. Read that last number next to the ₹45 LPA on the college homepage. Same college, very different picture, and the ECE one is the one that applies to you if you join ECE.

ECE students can sit for IT company drives too, and a lot of them end up in software jobs. That's normal. If you want core electronics, embedded or telecom work, you'll need to push for it with projects and internships.

ECE also has a 6-seat M.Tech and a 30-seat Working Professional version, so the department isn't small in what it runs, even if the B.Tech batch is.

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Seats: 180
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • NBA: accredited up to June 2028
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000
Published total₹1,81,200

B.Tech Electrical and Computer Engineering

Half electrical, half computing. 120 seats, and a branch name you won't see at many colleges.

The idea is to combine electrical and electronic systems with computing. How much of each you actually get depends on the department's syllabus, and since the name isn't common, we'd really ask for the four-year subject list before choosing it.

The department page names recruiters like Vodafone, TCS, Indus Tower, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant and EXL. That's a mix of telecom, infrastructure and IT services. The college itself warns that department snapshots cover different years, so check the year before you compare its placement percentage with anything else.

No NBA for this branch. Usually easier to get than the CSE branches in counselling, which is why a lot of students land here. That's not a bad thing if you're genuinely curious about both electrical systems and programming.

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Seats: 120
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • NBA: not listed
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000
Published total₹1,81,200

B.Tech Mechanical Engineering

Machines, materials, design and manufacturing. Only 60 seats, but it has NBA till June 2028.

You study engineering mechanics, materials, manufacturing, thermal sciences and machine design, with workshop time built in. It's a proper core branch, and students who enjoy it usually enjoy it a lot.

60 seats is the smallest batch at ABES by far. Less competition inside the branch is nice. Fewer core companies willing to travel for 60 students is the trade-off. We'd ask the department straight out how many of last year's offers were real mechanical jobs and how many were IT services.

One genuinely good sign: the Mechanical department reported a company paying a full year's tuition for two of its third-year students under a merit programme. That tells you some industry links exist here.

Typical roles include design, production, quality, maintenance and operations. If you like Mechanical but want options later, learning CAD tools and a bit of programming alongside will help a lot.

  • Duration: 4 years (8 semesters)
  • Seats: 60
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • NBA: accredited up to June 2028
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000

B.Tech Lateral Entry (Second Year)

Got a diploma, or a B.Sc. with Maths? You can join straight into second year and finish in three.

The main route is for diploma holders: an engineering diploma with 45%, or 40% for SC and ST. The listed exam is CUET (UG), followed by separate lateral-entry counselling.

B.Sc. graduates can apply too, with 45% and Maths in 12th. But here's the catch: diploma holders are seated first, and B.Sc. students only get what's left. Some years that's plenty. Some years it's very little.

Your branch depends on which seats are still vacant after the first-year rounds, so you may not get your first choice. And a few diploma fields are excluded altogether, so read the notice before you apply.

  • Duration: 3 years
  • Seats: depends on vacancies
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200 on the published table
  • Entry: CUET (UG) and lateral-entry counselling
Fee headAmount
Published total₹1,81,200

B.Tech Working Professional (CSE and ECE)

A B.Tech for people who already have a job. 30 seats in CSE, 30 in ECE.

This isn't regular B.Tech with evening classes. The college says clearly that you shouldn't assume the usual rules or a full-time timetable apply. So before anything else, find out when classes run, which earlier qualifications count, and how much work experience you need.

The fee is set out in a slightly confusing way. The table says "grand total ₹1,19,880", and then lists ₹3,100 for paperwork, ₹5,000 deposit and ₹9,600 for exams separately underneath. Add it all up and you get ₹1,37,580. Get one final number in writing.

The good part: you can pay ₹9,990 a month for 12 months, which makes sense if it's coming out of your salary.

  • Seats: 30 in CSE, 30 in ECE
  • Fee: ₹1,19,880 plus separately listed charges
  • Instalments: ₹9,990 a month
  • Entry: programme-specific process
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000
Technology and digital learning₹9,380
Welfare and insurance₹500
Grand total shown₹1,19,880

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)

Programming, databases and web stuff, without the heavy engineering maths. 120 seats, cheapest course at ABES.

BCA covers programming basics, databases, web and software concepts and IT systems. It suits students who want to work in software but either didn't take PCM or don't want a four-year engineering degree.

The fee is ₹1,66,200. The ₹15,000 difference from B.Tech is entirely tuition, ₹95,000 against ₹1,10,000. Everything else is the same, including the ₹36,000 career planning charge, so it's fair to ask whether BCA students get the same placement training for it.

Two gaps we couldn't fill from the college's site: how many years BCA runs here, and any BCA placement numbers at all. Get both from the BCA notice or the department before you commit.

Most BCA students who want better jobs go on to an MCA. ABES has 180 MCA seats, and its MCA department has the best published placement numbers in the college.

  • Seats: 120
  • Fee: ₹1,66,200
  • Entry: CUET (UG)
  • Duration: confirm in the BCA notice
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹95,000
Published total₹1,66,200

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

Two years of serious software work. 180 seats, and quietly the best placement record ABES publishes.

MCA goes deeper into software development, programming, databases and systems, with a big chunk of project work. It's open to a wider crowd than people think: BCA, B.Sc. CS or IT, B.Tech CSE or IT, and also any other graduate who did Maths in 12th or in college. You need 50%, or 45% for SC and ST, and the exam is CUET (PG).

Now the numbers. The MCA department's 2025 snapshot shows 140 students placed, 182 offers, 113 companies, 77.78% placement and a top offer of ₹12.93 LPA. That's better than ECE's 66.67% the same year, and it's the strongest department data on the whole ABES site.

There may also be a stipend of ₹7,000 in year one and ₹8,000 in year two for some non-GATE students admitted directly. The college doesn't say whether MCA students qualify, or only M.Tech, so ask.

If you're a BCA or B.Sc. graduate comparing MCA options in NCR, put these numbers next to the other college's. Most won't have anything this specific to show you.

  • Duration: 2 years
  • Seats: 180
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • Entry: CUET (PG)
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000
Published total₹1,81,200

M.Tech CSE and M.Tech ECE

Tiny programme. 12 seats in CSE, 6 in ECE, and GATE holders go first.

You need a related bachelor's degree with 50%, or 45% for reserved categories. The order of preference is GATE, then CUET (PG), then the college's own merit route. With 18 seats in total, one round can fill everything, so don't wait for a notice to land in your inbox.

This is where ABES puts actual money on the table. With a valid GATE score you may get the AICTE and MHRD postgraduate scholarship. Without GATE, some students admitted directly get ₹7,000 in the first year and ₹8,000 in the second. Whether that's monthly or yearly isn't stated, which is a big difference, so ask.

The college also says it helps students publish in journals and at international conferences. If you're thinking about a PhD or teaching later, that support matters more than any placement figure.

  • Duration: 2 years
  • Seats: 12 (CSE) and 6 (ECE)
  • Fee: ₹1,81,200
  • Entry: GATE, CUET (PG) or institution merit
Fee headAmount
Tuition₹1,10,000
Published total₹1,81,200

Newer Options at ABES

Two corners of the ABES course list look a bit different from what other colleges nearby offer.

CSE Specialisations and Electrical and Computer Engineering

Same fee as CSE. Different flavour.

  • AI-ML has 360 seats and Data Science has 180.
  • Electrical and Computer mixes electrical systems with computing, 120 seats.
  • None of the three has NBA.
  • Software drives usually open to all CSE branches together.

Pick a specialisation because you like the subject, not because the name sounds newer.

B.Tech Working Professional and BCA

Two ways in that aren't the regular four-year B.Tech.

  • Working Professional: 30 seats each in CSE and ECE, ₹9,990 a month.
  • BCA: 120 seats at ₹1,66,200, the lowest fee at ABES.
  • Both have their own notices. B.Tech rules don't carry over.
  • ABES has been autonomous since 2025, so the college sets the academic rules for both.

For either one, get the duration, class timings and total fee in writing before you pay.

ABES Course Recognition

NBA is the only accreditation given branch by branch. At ABES, B.Tech CSE has it till December 2028, and ECE and Mechanical till June 2028. AI-ML, Data Science and Electrical and Computer don't. For the college as a whole, there's NAAC Grade A from May 2022, and NIRF 2024 put ABES in the 201-300 band for Engineering. That's a range, by the way. Nobody at NIRF ranked it 201st.

How to Apply for ABES Courses

  1. Find your course on the official courses page and check its eligibility, seats and fee.
  2. Write the right exam: JEE Main, CUET (UG), CUET (PG) or GATE.
  3. Register on UPTAC, or fill the college's own form for direct admission, or both.
  4. Keep checking the portal and your email for merit lists, allotment and reporting dates.
  5. Report with originals, the exact number of photocopies, and the fee.
  6. Apply for a hostel room that same day. Rooms go first come, first served.

For two years, these three are mostly the same course. Can't decide? Take plain CSE. It keeps every door open, and it's the only one with NBA. Go for a specialisation only if you already know that's the field you want.

Core Branch or Computer Branch?

Trickier question at ABES than most places. Only 360 of 1,800 B.Tech seats are non-computing: ECE 180, Electrical and Computer 120, Mechanical 60. So the core departments are small and fewer core companies visit. ECE had 101 companies come in 2025, but the best offer was ₹7.65 LPA. If you love electronics or machines, go for it and plan properly. If you're picking it only because CSE didn't happen, know this: IT firms do hire from every branch, but you'll be up against about 1,440 computing students for the same drives.

MCA or M.Tech CSE?

MCA: 180 seats, open to almost any graduate with Maths, 77.78% placement in 2025. M.Tech CSE: 12 seats, needs an engineering degree, and that's where the GATE scholarship and research money are. Want a software job? MCA is the wider door. Want research, teaching or a GATE-funded degree? M.Tech.

Labs and Facilities Behind the Courses

Each department has its own labs, tutorial rooms and project spaces. Classrooms have projectors and AC, which you'll appreciate in May. The library is 1,565 sq m with 250 seats, over 115,000 books, 1,224 e-journals and 8,000-plus e-books, and you can log in to the e-resources from your room. If you visit, look at the labs your branch will actually use, and count how many machines there are against the batch size.

What You Pay Over the Full Course

We can't hand you a reliable four-year total, and we'd rather say that than make one up. ABES shows one fee table, not a year-by-year schedule. If ₹1,81,200 repeats every year, four years of B.Tech comes to roughly ₹7.2 lakh before hostel, a bit less once the one-time items drop off. That's our maths, not the college's. Get the year-two figure from accounts in writing and redo it yourself.

ABES CSE or CSE at Another College?

Look at four things side by side. NBA: ABES CSE has it till December 2028. Median salary: ABES publishes ₹4.50 LPA, which plenty of colleges won't tell you at all. Fee: ₹1,81,200. Batch size: 900, which is massive. If the other college costs about the same but can't show you a median or an NBA letter, ABES wins that comparison.
