AKGEC Scholarships 2026-27: JEE Rank Slabs, MCA and M.Tech Awards
Last updated: October 2026
At AKGEC, the scholarship comes down to one thing: your rank or your marks. Nothing else. For B.Tech, it's your JEE Main All India Rank. For MCA, your CUET PG rank. For M.Tech, your B.Tech percentage. Get an AIR of 10,000 or better and you won't pay a rupee of B.Tech tuition. Above that, the benefit shrinks in steps, down to 25% at AIR 25,000.
What gets cut is the tuition and development fee, ₹1,11,256 a year. Registration, medical, book bank, hostel and AKTU's fees stay as they are. And it's not a one-time thing you get to keep. From the second year, B.Tech and MCA students have to hold on to it: over 90% attendance, CGPA above 7.5 and no carry-over papers.
There's more, in smaller amounts. AKGEC gives cash prizes to AKTU and college rank holders (₹3,000 up to ₹50,000), to section toppers in internal tests and to students with great attendance. M.Tech students in their second year can earn ₹10,000 a month working part-time.
Important: Confirm the 2026-27 Slabs Before You Plan
One thing bothered us when we went through AKGEC's website. The B.Tech and MCA scholarship page doesn't mention which session it's for, and it hasn't been updated since August 2024. The M.Tech slabs are on the 2026-27 fee page, so those are newer. The college also doesn't say how many scholarships it hands out each year. So treat the slabs below as the rule on paper, and get your own scholarship confirmed in writing before you pay anything.
What this means for you
- Ask admissions to confirm your slab for the 2026-27 batch.
- Ask whether they go by your common rank list (CRL) rank or your category rank.
- Make sure the percentage, rupee amount and duration are written in your fee demand.
- Never pay anyone who says they can "arrange" a scholarship. The college itself warns about touts.
The State Government, the Fee Fixation Committee or AKTU can change fees and rules. Whatever the college confirms in writing is what counts.
How Scholarships Work at AKGEC
Every merit scholarship here is a discount on tuition. You don't get cash in hand.
- Only merit counts for the main scholarships: entrance rank or degree marks.
- Each course goes by something different. JEE Main for B.Tech, CUET PG for MCA, B.Tech marks for M.Tech.
- There are four slabs: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of tuition.
- You get one slab only. Cash prizes for ranks, attendance and tests are separate, so those can come on top.
- For B.Tech and MCA, keeping it from year two needs 90%+ attendance, CGPA above 7.5 and zero carry-overs.
- We couldn't find any sibling, girl child, defence, sports or income-based scholarship on AKGEC's own pages.
Merit-Based Scholarships: Programme-Wise Breakdown
Jump straight to your programme:
| Eligibility Threshold | Scholarship and Tuition Payable per Year |
|---|---|
| JEE Main AIR 1 to 10,000 | 100% of tuition; ₹0 payable |
| AIR 10,001 to 15,000 | 75% of tuition; about ₹27,814 payable |
| AIR 15,001 to 20,000 | 50% of tuition; about ₹55,628 payable |
| AIR 20,001 to 25,000 | 25% of tuition; about ₹83,442 payable |
Kept for all four years, a 100% award saves ₹4,45,024. Even 50% saves ₹2,22,512.
Goes by your JEE Main All India Rank. Can run from year one to year four, if you keep meeting the renewal rules.
| Eligibility Threshold | Scholarship and Tuition Payable per Year |
|---|---|
| CUET PG AIR 1 to 100 | 100% of tuition; ₹0 payable |
| AIR 101 to 250 | 75% of tuition; about ₹27,814 payable |
| AIR 251 to 500 | 50% of tuition; about ₹55,628 payable |
| AIR 501 to 750 | 25% of tuition; about ₹83,442 payable |
With 100%, the two-year MCA fee falls from ₹2,54,412 to roughly ₹31,900.
Goes by your CUET PG All India Rank. Can run for both years, if you meet the renewal rules.
| Eligibility Threshold | Scholarship (College's Approximate Value) |
|---|---|
| 80%+ (alumni 75%+) | 100% of tuition (about ₹1,00,000) |
| 75%+ (alumni 70%+) | 75% of tuition (about ₹75,000) |
| 70%+ (alumni 65%+) | 50% of tuition (about ₹50,000) |
| 65%+ (alumni 60%+) | 25% of tuition (about ₹25,000) |
These are AKGEC's own rounded figures. Here's something interesting: you need 60% to even get into M.Tech, so an AKGEC graduate with just the minimum already gets 25% off.
Goes by your B.Tech or B.E. percentage. If you studied at AKGEC, each slab needs 5% less.
| Eligibility Threshold | What You Pay |
|---|---|
| Allotted a fee-waiver seat through UPTAC | ₹41,014 in Year 1 and ₹93,556 over four years |
Instead of tuition, you pay a ₹10,114 development fee. Counselling rules decide who's eligible.
This is a UPTAC seat type, not something the college gives on merit.

AKGEC Scholarship Rules You Should Know
Read these before you count on a scholarship.
- Renewal is not automatic Your rank gets you the scholarship in year one. After that, B.Tech and MCA students keep it only if they tick all three boxes below.
- Attendance above 90%
- CGPA above 7.5
- Zero carry-over papers, in any semester
Just one carry-over can take away that year's scholarship.
- Tuition only Only tuition and development (₹1,11,256 a year) is covered. You still pay registration, medical, book bank, activity, placement and caution money, plus hostel and AKTU's fees.
- Slabs stop at a fixed rank B.Tech slabs stop at JEE Main AIR 25,000. MCA slabs stop at CUET PG AIR 750. Beyond those ranks, there's no merit scholarship.
- Combining benefits is unclear Can you get a merit scholarship on a fee-waiver seat? Or with a government scholarship? The college doesn't say. Find out before you plan your budget around two benefits.
- M.Tech renewal terms aren't published For M.Tech, the website doesn't say whether the scholarship lasts both years, or what you have to do to keep it. Ask, and get it in writing.
How to Get an AKGEC Scholarship
You won't find a separate scholarship form. It's tied to your admission.
- Read the scholarship page and the 2026-27 fee page for new students on akgec.ac.in.
- Get your seat, through UPTAC for B.Tech and MCA, or the college portal for M.Tech.
- Keep your JEE Main or CUET PG scorecard showing your AIR. For M.Tech, your B.Tech marksheets.
- AKGEC graduates applying for M.Tech: carry proof of your AKGEC degree to get the lower bar.
- At reporting, ask how and when the scholarship gets applied to your fee.
- Before paying, get the counselling adjustment and your final fee in writing.

Is an AKGEC Scholarship Worth Chasing?
If your rank is in range, absolutely. A JEE Main AIR under 10,000 takes the four-year college bill from ₹4,98,124 down to around ₹53,100. Even the smallest slab, 25%, saves you ₹1,11,256. The catch is keeping it. One carry-over or one year of poor attendance and it can disappear. Ask these before you pay:
- Which slab do I fall in for 2026-27?
- Is it based on my CRL rank or my category rank?
- How many rupees exactly come off each year?
- Does it last for the whole course?
- What happens if I fall below 90% attendance or 7.5 CGPA in one year?
- Can I combine it with a fee-waiver seat or a government scholarship?
- Will it be mentioned in my fee demand letter?
How Much Can You Save?
| Course and Slab | Normal Fee | After Scholarship |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech, 100% (4 years) | ₹4,98,124 | ₹53,100 |
| B.Tech, 75% (4 years) | ₹4,98,124 | ₹1,64,356 |
| B.Tech, 50% (4 years) | ₹4,98,124 | ₹2,75,612 |
| B.Tech, 25% (4 years) | ₹4,98,124 | ₹3,86,868 |
| MCA, 100% (2 years) | ₹2,54,412 | ₹31,900 |
| MCA, 50% (2 years) | ₹2,54,412 | ₹1,43,156 |
We calculated this on tuition of ₹1,11,256 a year, assuming you keep your slab every year. Hostel and AKTU fees not included.
Common Mistakes That Cost Students Their Scholarship
- Thinking a rank inside the slab is a guaranteed award, without checking.
- Using the B.Tech JEE slabs to guess an MCA or M.Tech scholarship.
- Bunking classes and slipping under 90% attendance.
- Carrying a backlog into the next year.
- Planning your budget as if hostel and mess are covered.
- Trusting websites that mention sibling or girl child scholarships AKGEC doesn't list.
Documents for Each Scholarship
| Scholarship | Documents |
|---|---|
| B.Tech merit | JEE Main scorecard with AIR, Class 10 and 12 mark sheets |
| MCA merit | CUET PG scorecard with AIR, graduation mark sheets |
| M.Tech merit | B.Tech or B.E. mark sheets; AKGEC degree proof for the alumni slab |
| Fee-waiver seat | UPTAC allotment letter showing the fee-waiver category |
| Government scholarship | Category, income and domicile certificates, bank details |
Renewal Worked Example
Here's how it can go wrong. You join B.Tech with AIR 12,000 and get 75% off. Year one, you pay about ₹27,814 in tuition. In year two, your attendance ends at 88%. That's below 90%, so the 75% may not apply that year, and tuition jumps back to ₹1,11,256. One year of skipped classes just cost you about ₹83,442. Of all three rules, attendance is the easiest to control. Don't lose it there.
MCA Savings by CUET PG Rank
| CUET PG AIR | Scholarship | Tuition Saved (2 Years) | MCA Total You Pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 100 | 100% | ₹2,22,512 | ₹31,900 |
| 101 to 250 | 75% | ₹1,66,884 | ₹87,528 |
| 251 to 500 | 50% | ₹1,11,256 | ₹1,43,156 |
| 501 to 750 | 25% | ₹55,628 | ₹1,98,784 |
| Above 750 | None | ₹0 | ₹2,54,412 |
This assumes you keep your slab in year two by meeting the attendance, CGPA and carry-over rules.
M.Tech Scholarship: A Worked Example
Suppose you finished B.Tech at AKGEC with 72%. Because you're an alumnus, your bar is 5% lower. So 72% lands you in the 75% slab (alumni need 70%). Someone from another college with the same 72% gets only 50%. Going by AKGEC's own rounded values, that's about ₹25,000 more off your M.Tech tuition. If you're already at AKGEC and thinking about M.Tech, that's a solid reason to stay.
How Cash Awards Add Up
Each prize is small, but they add up for a student who's consistent. A B.Tech student with 100% attendance who tops their section gets ₹3,000. Top the Pre-University Test too, and that's another ₹3,000. At the end of the course, anyone in AKTU's top ten across branches in final year gets at least ₹30,000. The AKTU topper gets ₹50,000. The college's overall topper across all four years gets the AKGEC Gold Medal and ₹20,000.
Government Scholarships
AKGEC's own scholarships are purely merit-based. If your family income or category qualifies you, you can also apply for UP or central government scholarships on their official portals. They're separate from the college's awards, with their own deadlines, and you'll need income, caste and domicile certificates. Check with the college's scholarship office what they need from you to verify the application.
Scholarship vs Total Cost
Even with a full scholarship, AKGEC isn't free. A B.Tech student with 100% tuition covered still pays about ₹53,100 in college charges across four years. Add roughly ₹8,500 a year for AKTU if it bills yearly, and ₹1,40,000 for a triple room in the first year. Day scholars come out of it with the biggest savings.
