AKGEC Courses 2026: B.Tech Branches, M.Tech, MCA, Seats and Fees
AKGEC has 14 programmes in total. Nine are B.Tech branches, four are M.Tech and one is an MCA. All of them come under AKTU Lucknow. In practice, that means AKTU decides your syllabus, sets your semester papers and prints its name on your degree.
Look at the seat numbers and you'll notice how computer-heavy the college is. CSE alone has 450 seats. Add AI-ML, Data Science, CS (Hindi) and IT, and computing takes 990 of the 1,320 B.Tech seats. ECE has 180. Then the core branches are tiny by comparison: Mechanical 60, Electrical and Electronics 60, Civil just 30.
Fees don't depend on the branch at all. Every B.Tech student pays ₹4,98,124 across four years on the 2026-27 sheet. MCA is ₹2,54,412 for two years. M.Tech's first year is ₹1,19,256. So choose by subject. Money isn't the deciding factor here.
AKGEC Admission 2026-27: What's Open
For 2026-27, B.Tech seats go through UPTAC, and MCA and M.Tech through the college's admission portal.

B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering at AKGEC
AKGEC's largest department. 450 seats, four years, AKTU degree.
You'll study programming, data structures, algorithms, databases, operating systems, networks and software engineering. Year one is the common engineering year everyone does. The heavy computing starts from year two.
Fee: ₹1,42,156 for the first year, ₹4,98,124 in all. You need Class 12 with Physics and Maths and 45% in the required subjects (40% SC/ST), and a JEE Main rank for UPTAC.
Nearly every recruiter in AKGEC's records takes CSE students. That includes service companies like TCS, Infosys and HCL Technologies, and product firms like ION Group (₹17 LPA in the 2025-26 sheet), SHL and Info Edge India.
Being in a big batch has two sides. You'll always find people for coding clubs and contests. But in placements you're up against 449 others for the same companies. In a branch this size, your projects and internships are what make you stand out.

B.Tech CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) at AKGEC
CSE, plus a lot more machine learning.
The base is the same as CSE: programming and core computing. In the later years you move into AI concepts, ML models and building intelligent applications.
180 seats. Same fee as CSE, ₹4,98,124 over four years, and the same eligibility.
People from this branch go into AI and ML development, data roles, regular software jobs and research.
Like maths? Then this is a good fit. ML runs on linear algebra and probability. Students who skip those basics in the early years usually struggle later.

B.Tech CSE (Data Science) at AKGEC
A computing branch that's mostly about statistics, handling data and analysis.
You learn programming, statistics, data management, and the methods used to pull conclusions out of large data sets.
120 seats. ₹4,98,124 for four years, like every other branch.
Usual jobs: data analyst, BI analyst, data engineer, software developer.
Can't decide between this and AI-ML? Here's the rough difference. AI-ML is about building models. Data Science is more about cleaning, studying and presenting data. If you'd rather make sense of numbers than train models, go for Data Science.

B.Tech Computer Science (Hindi) at AKGEC
The CSE syllabus, taught in Hindi.
This branch teaches the basics of computer science with Hindi as the teaching language. If you studied in Hindi medium and English-heavy lectures worry you, this branch was made with you in mind.

Two questions to ask the department: how much of the teaching, notes and exams are actually in Hindi each year, and do recruiters treat it like CSE when deciding who can sit for a drive?

B.Tech Information Technology at AKGEC
Software, networks, databases and IT systems. 180 seats.
For the first two years, IT and CSE look very similar. After that, IT spends more time on networks, information systems and infrastructure.
₹4,98,124 for four years. IT was one of the five branches with NBA accreditation listed up to 30 June 2025.
In the 2025-26 sheet, companies like SHL (₹10.65 LPA), Info Edge India (₹10 LPA) and ION Group hired from IT as well as CSE.

B.Tech Civil Engineering at AKGEC
Structures, construction, surveying and soil work. Only 30 seats.
Structural analysis, construction materials, surveying, geotechnical and environmental engineering.
The smallest B.Tech branch at AKGEC, with 30 seats. Still the same ₹4,98,124 fee.
Graduates become site engineers, work in design support or on infrastructure projects. A lot of Civil students also study for government engineering exams.

MCA at AKGEC
Two years of postgraduate computing, for graduates who've done Maths.
You'll cover coding, database design, software engineering and a bit of AI, and finish with a full project.
Eligibility: a three-year degree with Maths in Class 12 or college, and 50% (45% SC/ST). Fee: ₹1,35,956 in year one, ₹1,18,456 in year two.
In 2026, 10 companies made 29 offers to MCA students. The best was ₹9 LPA and the average came to ₹6.0 LPA. Infosys, TCS and Intellipaat all list MCA as eligible.
Your CUET PG rank matters a lot here. AIR 1 to 100 means no tuition, and you still get 25% off right up to AIR 750.

M.Tech at AKGEC (CSE, ECE, EEE, Mechanical)
Two-year postgraduate engineering. Four specialisations, 51 seats in total.
Seats: CSE 18, ECE 12, Electrical and Electronics 12, Mechanical 9. You need a related B.Tech or B.E. with 60%. MCA graduates can apply for M.Tech CSE.
First year costs ₹1,19,256 over two semesters. The college hasn't posted the second-year fee yet.
The scholarship here is honestly generous. 65% in B.Tech gets you 25% off tuition. 80% gets you all of it. If you did your B.Tech at AKGEC, take 5% off each of those bars.
From the second year, you can work part-time in the Centres of Excellence and get ₹10,000 a month for it.

AKGEC Course Recognition
According to AKGEC's accreditation page, five B.Tech programmes had NBA accreditation for 2022-23 to 2024-25, valid up to 30 June 2025: CSE, ECE, Electrical and Electronics, IT and Mechanical. The college says it has a NAAC A++ grade. There's no course-wise NIRF rank. If NBA status matters for your branch, ask the college for the latest letter, because the listed one has run out.

- MCA or M.Tech: fill the form on AKGEC's admission page.
- Follow each round. Freeze AKGEC once you're sure.
- Go to the campus with originals, photocopies and signed anti-ragging forms.
- Pay the balance. Apply for hostel or bus on the side.

All four have the same fee, so it's about interest and rank. CSE gives you the most options later. Pick AI-ML or Data Science only if you actually like maths. And if CSE closes before your rank, IT is a smart backup, because most software companies hire from both.
Core Branch or Computer Branch?
Roughly 75% of B.Tech seats at AKGEC are computing seats, and most recruiters in the records are hiring for software jobs. Core branches have fewer seats and fewer companies, but also fewer people fighting for each core job. If you really like machines, power or construction, go for it. You'll still be allowed into the IT drives that are open to every branch.
MCA or M.Tech CSE?
MCA is open to any graduate who has done Maths, and it mostly leads to software jobs. M.Tech CSE needs B.Tech, B.E. or MCA with 60%, and it's more about advanced technical and research work. If you've got a B.Tech with 65%+, M.Tech comes with a good scholarship. If you're a B.Sc. or BCA graduate, MCA is the only one of the two open to you.

Labs and Facilities Behind the Courses
Every department has its own labs and licensed software. On top of that, there are computer centres, Centres of Excellence and R&D centres. The Central Library seats around 344 and gives you DELNET and National Digital Library access. When you visit, ask to see your branch's labs and how many hours a week students really get in them.

What You Pay Over the Full Course
In college fees, B.Tech costs ₹4,98,124 for four years. Living in a triple room adds ₹1,40,000 in the first year alone. MCA comes to ₹2,54,412. A good rank can cut 25% to 100% off the tuition part, which is ₹1,11,256 a year.

AKGEC CSE or CSE at Another College?
This one comes up every year in UPTAC. Core branch at AKGEC, or CSE at a less known college? There's no single right answer. Your degree is from AKTU either way, so the syllabus is the same. What's different is the college around you: the companies that come, the peers, the labs and how much training help you get. AKGEC's records show which branches each company allowed, and big names like Infosys, TCS and Intellipaat opened their drives to all branches. So even from a core branch at AKGEC, you can sit for those IT drives. That said, if you're sure about a software career, CSE or IT here gets you in front of the most companies.

MCA After BCA, B.Sc. or B.Com.
Any three-year graduate who studied Maths, in Class 12 or in the degree, can apply. BCA graduates generally have the easiest first semester, since a lot of it overlaps with what they've done. B.Sc. graduates in Maths or Computer Science pick it up fast too. If you're from B.Com. or B.A. with Maths, brush up on basic programming before classes start. The course gets into coding and databases quickly.
