Location & Map
Ask anyone in Ghaziabad about engineering colleges and AKGEC usually comes up in the first two or three names. The college sits on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, has been around since 1998, and gives AKTU degrees. It's mostly a B.Tech college (nine branches), with a small M.Tech side and an MCA. We went through its 2026-27 fee sheet, placement records and approval pages to put this together. Short version: the B.Tech costs ₹4,98,124 for four years whichever branch you take, the college states a NAAC A++ grade, and you get in through UPTAC with college code 027.
How AKGEC Started
AKGEC opened its doors in 1998. Nearly thirty years on, it still does one thing: engineering and computing. No BBA here, no law, no commerce. CSE is the biggest department by a distance with 450 seats. For a student who wants to be surrounded by engineers, that's a good thing. If you think you might want to switch to management later, you'd have to do it at another college.
Approvals and University Affiliation
First thing to understand: AKGEC doesn't give degrees. AKTU Lucknow does. The college teaches you, runs internal tests and handles placements, but the syllabus and the semester exams belong to AKTU. On the approvals page we found an AICTE letter running to 2025-26 and an AKTU affiliation letter for 2024-25 through 2026-27. The NAAC A++ grade is stated on the accreditation page. One catch. Five branches had NBA accreditation, but the listed validity ended on 30 June 2025. If NBA matters to you (it sometimes does for higher studies abroad), ask the college for the newer letter.
| Programme | Degree Awarded By | Approval or Accreditation |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech (all 9 branches) | AKTU, Lucknow | AICTE approved; NAAC A++ for the college |
| B.Tech lateral entry | AKTU, Lucknow | AICTE approved |
| M.Tech (4 specialisations) | AKTU, Lucknow | AICTE approved |
| MCA | AKTU, Lucknow | AICTE approved |
| B.Tech CSE, ECE, EEE, IT, Mechanical | AKTU, Lucknow | NBA listed up to 30 June 2025; newer status to be confirmed |
Where Is AKGEC Located?
27th Km Milestone, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, P.O. Adhyatmik Nagar, Ghaziabad 201015. That's the full address. The campus is right on the expressway, which makes the road commute from Delhi, Noida or Meerut fairly simple. If you're a day scholar, the college bus is worth looking at. They run their own buses and hire extra ones on contract.
- •On the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, at the 27 km mark.
- •2 college-owned buses, 5 on contract and 16 smaller vehicles, as per the college.
- •Six hostels inside the campus, three each for boys and girls.
- •Planning to rent a room outside? Get the bus route list first and pick a place near a stop.

Your syllabus at AKGEC is AKTU's syllabus, same as at every other AKTU college. So where's the difference? Mostly in what happens around the classes. Departments have their own labs and licensed software. There are Centres of Excellence and R&D centres, plenty of clubs, and 4 to 6 weeks of industrial training for some branches. Internal tests are taken seriously too. Top your section in a sessional test and there's prize money waiting.
What AKGEC Adds to the AKTU Syllabus
| Label | Text |
|---|---|
| Centres of Excellence | Industry-linked project work. Second-year M.Tech students can get paid ₹10,000 a month here. |
| Library | 1,465 sq m, around 344 seats, DELNET and National Digital Library access. |
| Internal tests | ST-1, ST-2 and a Pre-University Test before each AKTU exam, with cash for section toppers. |
| Rank awards | ₹3,000 to ₹50,000 for AKTU and college rank holders, plus AKGEC Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. |
| Student life | Tech clubs, professional chapters, cultural and sports clubs, NCC, NSS. |
Industrial Training
Some branches get 4 to 6 weeks of industrial training, set up by the Training and Placement Department. Don't treat it as a holiday. A decent project from this training is often the thing you end up talking about in your first real interview.
Library and Digital Resources
The Central Library is where most students end up before exams. It has reading halls, small study cubicles and a digital section. The catalogue runs on KOHA, and there's a DSpace repository with the college's own material. Department libraries keep old project reports, which, honestly, are the most useful thing on the shelf when you're planning your own final-year project.
FAQs — AKGEC Academics and Teaching Method
AKTU. The college teaches it and adds labs, training and tests on top.
Yes. Rank holders, section toppers in internal tests and students with 90%+ attendance all get cash awards.
Yes, along with R&D centres for project work.
AKGEC puts out a proper year-wise fee sheet, which not every private college bothers to do. For 2026-27, B.Tech is ₹1,42,156 in year one and ₹4,98,124 across all four years. Why is the first year heavier? Because three one-time items sit in it: a ₹10,000 activity fee, ₹10,000 for career planning and placement, and ₹5,000 caution money (you get that back). AKTU separately asks for ₹7,500 exam fee and ₹1,000 for its digital library. Hostel is extra.
Course-wise Fee Structure 2026-27
| Course | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | Year 4 | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| B.Tech (all branches) | ₹1,42,156 | ₹1,20,656 | ₹1,17,156 | ₹1,18,156 | ₹4,98,124 |
| B.Tech (fee-waiver seat) | ₹41,014 | ₹19,514 | ₹16,014 | ₹17,014 | ₹93,556 |
| B.Tech lateral entry (CSE group) | ₹1,42,356 | ₹1,16,356 | ₹1,17,356 | ₹3,76,068 | |
| MCA | ₹1,35,956 | ₹1,18,456 | ₹2,54,412 | ||
| M.Tech (all 4) | ₹1,19,256 | Not published | Ask the college |
What the Fee Includes
Most of it is tuition and development: ₹1,11,256 a year for both B.Tech and MCA. On top of that you pay small things every year. Registration is ₹1,500 and medical is ₹1,500. Book bank is ₹2,900 for B.Tech and ₹3,200 for MCA. The medical charge isn't a dead fee, by the way. It comes with insurance and OPD benefits. And whatever you paid during UPTAC counselling gets knocked off your first bill.
Hostel Fee
| Room | Rent and Mess | Refundable Security | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Triple-seater (boys and girls) | ₹1,30,000 | ₹10,000 | ₹1,40,000 |
| Double-seater (boys) | ₹1,40,000 | ₹10,000 | ₹1,50,000 |
Your First-Year Budget
Year one is when everything lands together. These numbers assume AKTU bills both its fees in the first year itself.
| Course | College Fee | AKTU Fees | With Triple Hostel |
|---|---|---|---|
| B.Tech | ₹1,42,156 | ₹8,500 | ₹2,90,656 |
| B.Tech (fee-waiver seat) | ₹41,014 | ₹8,500 | ₹1,89,514 |
| MCA | ₹1,35,956 | ₹8,500 | ₹2,84,456 |
FAQs — AKGEC Fees 2026-27
₹1,42,156 for the first year. ₹4,98,124 for all four. AKTU charges are separate.
₹1,40,000 for a triple room, ₹1,50,000 for a boys' double. Both include ₹10,000 you get back later.
For regular entry, yes. CSE and Civil cost exactly the same. Lateral entry varies a little by branch.
₹1,35,956 plus ₹1,18,456. So ₹2,54,412 for the course.
First year is ₹1,19,256. The college hasn't put up the second-year amount yet.
For B.Tech, there's really one road in: UPTAC. That's Uttar Pradesh's counselling for AKTU colleges. You fill your choices, UPTAC hands out seats based on your JEE Main rank, and once you freeze AKGEC you go to the campus with your papers. Some seats stay empty after counselling, and the college fills those itself under state rules (JEE-qualified students get first go). MCA and M.Tech have separate registration links on the AKGEC site.
Eligibility
| Course | Minimum Requirement | Route |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech (first year) | Class 12 with Physics and Maths, plus Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or a vocational subject; 45% together (40% SC/ST) | UPTAC on JEE Main rank; leftover seats at college level |

FAQs — AKGEC Admission 2026-27
Through UPTAC, using your JEE Main rank. Look for college code 027.
It's tough. Even the leftover seats go to JEE-qualified students first, and only then on merit.
Yes. Diploma holders with 45% (40% SC/ST) join B.Tech in the second year through UPTAC.
People ask "what's the AKGEC cutoff" as if it were one number. It isn't. UPTAC publishes an opening and a closing rank for every branch, every category, every quota, every round. CSE and Civil can close thousands of ranks apart in the same year. When we checked, the college hadn't released a final 2026-27 closing-rank list. Your best bet is UPTAC's 2025 opening and closing rank document. Search for AKGEC, then find the row for your branch and category.
Minimum Marks by Course
| Course | Minimum Marks |
|---|---|
| B.Tech | 45% in Class 12 with Physics and Maths (40% SC/ST) |
| B.Tech lateral entry | 45% in the diploma (40% SC/ST) |
| MCA | 50% in graduation (45% SC/ST), with Maths at Class 12 or graduation |
| M.Tech | 60% in B.Tech or B.E. |
What Decides Your Seat
Your rank, your category and the order in which you fill choices. Then there's demand. CSE has 450 seats, more than any other branch, and it still fills first because almost everyone wants it. If your rank is near last year's CSE closing rank, don't leave IT, ECE or the CSE specialisations off your list. Put them right below CSE.
FAQs — AKGEC Cutoff 2026
It changes every year and every round. Check the AKGEC CSE row for your category in UPTAC's rank document.
You're eligible. Whether you get a seat depends on your rank.
On UPTAC's "B.Tech Opening and Closing Ranks 2025" page and the OR-CR index.
According to its 2025 placement brochure, AKGEC had 1,133 students registered, 1,096 offers on the board, 739 of them exclusive, and 225 companies on campus. The top offer was ₹30 LPA. Now look at the part brochures don't put on the cover. The college also grouped 1,022 students by salary. 520 got less than ₹5 LPA. 472 got between ₹5 and 10 LPA. That leaves just 30 above ₹10 LPA. So roughly 97 out of every 100 were placed under ₹10 LPA. There's no published average or median for B.Tech.
Placement Numbers
| Indicator | Figure |
|---|---|
| Registered students (2025 brochure) | 1,133 |
| Total offers | 1,096 |
| Exclusive offers | 739 |
| Companies visited | 225 |
| Highest package | ₹30 LPA |
| Students placed below ₹5 LPA | 520 |
| Students placed at ₹5 to 10 LPA | 472 |
| Students placed at ₹10 to 20 LPA | 24 |
| Students placed above ₹20 LPA | 6 |
| MCA 2026 | 29 offers, ₹9 LPA highest, ₹6.0 LPA average |
Who Hires from AKGEC?
Service companies make up the bulk. Infosys, TCS, HCL Technologies, Accenture and DXC Technology keep showing up year after year. Then there are product and tech names like ION Group, Info Edge India, SHL, Hashedin by Deloitte, Newgen Software and MAQ Software. Core branch students see companies such as Rohde and Schwarz India, Emerson, KUKA Robotics, Rockwell Automation, Jackson Group, PPAP Automotive and Torrent Power.
Recent Company-wise Offers
The 2025-26 company-wise sheet shows a total of 1,190. The 2024-25 one shows 1,394. Ask the T&P office whether those totals are offers or students, because it changes how you read them. A few packages from the 2025-26 sheet:
| Company | Branches | Package |
|---|---|---|
| ION Group | CS, IT, ECE | ₹17 LPA |
| Infosys | All B.Tech branches, MCA | ₹3.6 to ₹16 LPA, depending on role |
| SHL | CSE, IT | ₹10.65 LPA |
| Info Edge India | CSE, IT | ₹10 LPA |
| Rohde and Schwarz India | ECE, M.Tech ECE | ₹8.5 to ₹10 LPA |
| TCS | All B.Tech branches, MCA | ₹3.46 and ₹7.30 LPA |
How the T&P Department Prepares You
- •Aptitude, technical and soft-skill training before final-year drives.
- •Personality development sessions for communication and interview nerves.
- •4 to 6 weeks of industrial training for some branches.
- •Project work in the Centres of Excellence. Gives you something real to talk about.
Reading the Package Bands
₹30 LPA makes the headline, but the bands tell you what's realistic. In 2025, the biggest group (520 students) landed below ₹5 LPA. Almost as many (472) got ₹5 to 10 LPA. Only 30 crossed ₹10 LPA. Our honest advice: plan around ₹5 to 10 LPA. Anything above that needs strong skills, a couple of solid projects and some luck with timing.
FAQs — AKGEC Placements 2026

Infosys, TCS, HCL, Accenture, ION Group, Info Edge, SHL, Rohde and Schwarz, Emerson and KUKA Robotics, among others.
AKGEC's big badge is NAAC A++, which the college states on its own accreditation page. A NIRF rank, though, is missing. The college took part in NIRF 2025 for engineering and has sent its 2026 data, but being in the participants list is not the same as being ranked. Five B.Tech branches had NBA accreditation that ran until 30 June 2025.
Approvals and Recognitions

No. Tuition only.
About 40 acres, on the expressway. You'll find the academic blocks and department labs, a fairly large Central Library (1,465 sq m), six hostels, sports grounds and courts, canteens, an ATM, a stationery shop and photocopy points. The one we didn't expect: a hospital right on campus, the Dr. R.S.G. (Indo-German) Hospital. Students get cashless cover there, and there's an ambulance on call.
Facilities at a Glance
| Facility | What You Get |
|---|---|
| Labs | Department labs, computer centres, workshops, licensed software |
| Library | Central Library with around 344 seats, plus department and hostel libraries |
| Hostels | 3 for boys, 3 for girls; Wi-Fi, laundry, RO water, power backup, gym |
| Sports | Cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, chess, carrom |
| Medical | Hospital on campus, cashless cover, ambulance, tie-up with Shivam Hospital |
| Transport | 2 college buses, 5 on contract, 16 light vehicles |
Campus Life
When class ends, most of the action is in the tech clubs and professional chapters. There are cultural societies too, sports clubs, NCC and NSS. Hostellers have a gym, a TV room, a common room and a small library inside the complex. Since nearly everyone here is an engineer, coding contests and tech fests usually pull the biggest crowds.
Hostel Life
First-year girls get non-AC triple rooms. First-year boys mostly get non-AC doubles, with a few triples. Every hostel complex has its own mess. A triple costs ₹1,40,000 for the first year, including the ₹10,000 deposit. Boys, apply early. There aren't enough rooms for everyone who wants one.

Want an AKTU B.Tech in Delhi NCR, ideally in a computer branch, for under ₹5 lakh in fees? AKGEC is one of the first places to look. The NAAC A++ grade, 225 recruiters and the rank-based scholarship make it a regular pick. Before you lock it in UPTAC, though, check two things: what students in your branch actually got placed at, and whether you'll get a hostel room.
Reasons Students Shortlist AKGEC
| Label | Text |
|---|---|
| Since 1998 | Nearly three decades of running B.Tech in Ghaziabad. |
| NAAC A++ | The top NAAC band, as per the college. |
| Fee under ₹5 lakh | ₹4,98,124 for four years, one fee for every branch. |
| Big CSE intake | 450 CSE seats, 990 across computing branches. |
| Rank scholarships | Full tuition waived for JEE Main AIR up to 10,000. |
| Recruiters | 225 companies and 1,096 offers in 2025. |
Who Should Think Twice
If you want BBA, law or anything outside engineering, this isn't your college. If you're a boy who absolutely needs a hostel room, have a backup plan, because rooms run short. And if you're expecting ₹10 LPA or more from campus, look at the numbers again. In 2025, only about 3 out of 100 students in the salary bands crossed that line.
