Lloyd Institute of Forensic Science Admission 2026-27: Eligibility, CUET, Merit Route and How to Apply
Admission 2026-27 at Lloyd Institute of Forensic Science (LIFS) is open for the integrated B.Sc. + M.Sc. Forensic Science, the M.Sc. Forensic Science and two PG professional diplomas. LIFS is affiliated to the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, so it follows NFSU's 2026-27 rules for affiliated institutes.
CUET-UG 2026 fills the integrated course and CUET-PG 2026 fills the M.Sc. The two diplomas, Fingerprint Science and Forensic Document Examination, are filled on merit in your qualifying degree. Applications usually start in May and close around mid-July, with classes beginning in August.
One thing to know first: LIFS's own admission page and NFSU's sheet don't match on everything. For the integrated course the minimum is 60% on the LIFS page but 55% in NFSU's sheet. Both are laid out here so you know what to ask.

How LIFS Admission Works
Each course has its own route.
Degree courses go through CUET, with CUET-UG for the integrated programme and CUET-PG for the M.Sc.
After that, you follow NFSU's admission or counselling instructions for affiliated institutes.
Diplomas use merit in your bachelor's degree, so ask how that merit is calculated.
Some content in the LIFS FAQ also mentions merit and a personal interview for certain programmes.
Meeting the minimum marks doesn't guarantee you a seat.
Use the subject papers listed for your exact programme and year.

LIFS Application Process 2026-27
There are three stages. Register (and take CUET if your course needs it), clear merit or counselling, then accept the offer and complete enrolment.
Step 1: Registering and Applying
Start with the right portal.
- Pick your programme and read both the LIFS notice and NFSU's 2026-27 programme details.
- Register on the CUET portal if your course needs CUET-UG or CUET-PG.
- For diplomas, follow the LIFS / NFSU merit application route.
- Fill in personal, category and academic details accurately.
- Choose the correct programme and institute where the portal asks.
- Pay only the fee shown on the official portal and save the receipt.
Documents Required for LIFS Admission
Keep these ready.
- Class 10 certificate or date-of-birth proof
- Class 12 mark sheet and certificate (integrated course)
- Graduation mark sheets and degree or provisional certificate (M.Sc., diplomas)
- CUET-UG or CUET-PG scorecard and application details
- Government photo ID, recent photo and signature

Step 2: Merit, Counselling or Interview
CUET applicants follow NFSU's counselling and seat-allotment instructions for affiliated institutes, while diploma applicants are ranked on degree merit. A few programmes may add a personal interview or document check. Watch your registered email and the official portal for merit lists and deadlines.
Step 3: Accepting the Offer
Once you get an offer, read it carefully. Look at the fee schedule, refund terms, course duration and the institution that awards the qualification. Pay by the deadline through the official channel, get your documents verified and finish enrolment. Hostel or transport can be sorted after that.

Financial Support at LIFS
LIFS doesn't publish a scholarship table, so ask about these at the time of admission.
Where to Look for Support
Routes worth checking.
| Route | Who Runs It | What to Ask |
|---|---|---|
| Institute merit or concession | LIFS | Is there any award for my course and intake? |
| University schemes | NFSU | Do they cover affiliated-institute students? |
| Government scholarships | Central / state portals | Does my course and institute qualify? |
| Education loan | Banks / lenders | Interest, repayment, moratorium |
Before Counting on Any Support
- Get the award and payment schedule in writing.
- Check whether it reduces the fee directly or is paid later.
- Ask about renewal and whether it can be combined with a government scheme.
