Mangalmay Scholarships 2026-27: Merit Waivers, Sibling, Girl Child, Defence and Chairman's Fund
Last updated: October 2026
Scholarships at Mangalmay are deducted directly from your tuition fee. The largest is the merit scholarship: B.Tech CSE students with 85% or more in Class 12 PCM, or a top JEE Main percentile, can receive a 25% to 50% waiver. BBA students scoring 75% to 85% can get 10% to 20%. MBA applicants with 70% in graduation or a strong CAT, MAT or CMAT score qualify for a separate fund.
There are also fixed concessions. Siblings studying together receive 10% off tuition, a single girl child gets 10%, and children of armed forces or paramilitary staff get 5%. Sports title holders can receive up to 50% off first-year tuition, and Mangalmay alumni get a discount on the MBA. Families earning under ₹7 lakh a year can look at the Chairman's Merit Scholarship Fund.
There's one catch: funds are limited and given out on a first come, first served basis. The sections below explain how each scholarship works, how to apply, what keeps it going after Year 1, and the questions to ask before you pay.
Important: Mangalmay Scholarship Funds Run Out
Scholarship seats in premium programmes come from a fixed, pre-allocated fund. When a wing's allocation runs out, later candidates are admitted on standard terms without a waiver. Verifying and submitting early makes a real difference.
What this means for you
- Apply early: funds are allocated first come, first served.
- Match your marks: enter scores exactly as on your mark sheet.
- Get it in writing: your scholarship slab is written inside your offer letter.
- One benefit only: if you qualify for two, you get the higher one.
Percentages, categories and renewal rules may change. Your official offer letter overrides any guide.
How Scholarships Work at Mangalmay
Every Mangalmay scholarship is a tuition waiver or concession, never a cash payout.
- Merit is the main criterion, based on Class 12 marks or entrance percentiles.
- Each department has its own merit brackets, because B.Tech and BBA fees differ.
- Sibling, single girl child, defence and sports concessions sit alongside merit.
- The Chairman's Merit Scholarship Fund supports talented students facing money problems.
- Only the single highest benefit applies.
- To renew, you need zero backlogs, good attendance and a CGPA of around 7.5 to 8.0+.

Mangalmay Scholarship Rules You Should Know
Read these before you count on a waiver.
- Limited funds, first come first served Waivers are given from fixed funds. Reaching a benchmark makes you eligible to request one, but it isn't an automatic entitlement.
Late applicants may get no waiver even with high marks.
- Only one scholarship If you qualify for more than one, Mangalmay gives you the single highest-value benefit. They aren't added together.
- Renewal is not automatic To keep your scholarship after Year 1, you must stay clean academically.
- Zero backlogs
- Minimum CGPA of about 7.5 to 8.0+, depending on the stream
- Good attendance
- No disciplinary issues
One backlog or attendance problem can cost you the waiver in Year 2.
- State board marks are normalised The Admissions Committee adjusts marks from non-CBSE state boards internally so that different grading systems are treated fairly.
- Tuition only Waivers cover tuition only. Hostel, mess, university exam fees and transport are paid in full.
How to Apply for a Mangalmay Scholarship
You apply for scholarships through the admission form itself.
- Open the Mangalmay admissions portal and find the 2026 registration window.
- Fill in your profile with your final marks and entrance scores, exactly as they appear on your certificates.
- Upload clear scans of your Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and your entrance scorecard.
- For sibling, single girl child or defence concessions, upload the certificate, employer letter or declaration.
- Read your conditional offer letter; the scholarship slab is written inside it.
- Before you pay the first deposit, get your net tuition, renewal rules and duration in writing from the admissions team.
You can raise scholarship queries with the admissions helpdesk or in person at the campus office in Greater Noida.
Is a Mangalmay Scholarship Worth Chasing?
Yes, but plan for the whole bill. A waiver reduces tuition, while hostel, mess, exam fees and transport remain the same. Ask these questions before you pay:
- Which scholarship slab am I in for the 2026 intake?
- Is my waiver locked, or has the fund for my stream closed?
- What is the exact rupee reduction per semester?
- Does it apply for all years or only the first?
- What CGPA, attendance and backlog rules protect it after Year 1?
- Can merit be combined with a girl child, alumni or defence concession?
- Is the percentage written in my provisional offer letter?
How Much Can You Save?
| Course and Benefit | Normal Tuition | After Waiver |
|---|---|---|
| B.Tech, 50% merit (4 years) | ₹5,16,000 | ₹2,58,000 |
| B.Tech, 25% merit (4 years) | ₹5,16,000 | ₹3,87,000 |
| B.Tech, 10% sibling or girl child | ₹5,16,000 | ₹4,64,400 |
| B.Tech, 5% defence | ₹5,16,000 | ₹4,90,200 |
| B.Tech, 50% sports (first year) | ₹5,16,000 | ₹4,51,500 |
| BBA / BCA, 20% merit | ₹2,52,000 | ₹2,01,600 |
| BBA / BCA, 10% sibling or girl child | ₹2,52,000 | ₹2,26,800 |
These worked examples assume the waiver continues as stated. The real figure is in your offer letter.
Common Mistakes That Cost Students Their Scholarship
- Assuming the listed percentage guarantees a waiver without checking fund limits.
- Using a BBA slab to estimate a B.Tech scholarship.
- Typing estimated marks on the portal that don't match the final mark sheet.
- Missing deadlines for category certificates.
- Overlooking the renewal rules and losing the waiver in Year 2 because of a backlog or low attendance.
Documents for Each Scholarship
| Scholarship | Documents to Upload |
|---|---|
| Merit (B.Tech, BBA, BCA) | Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, JEE Main scorecard if any |
| Merit (MBA, MBA++) | Graduation mark sheets, CAT, MAT or CMAT scorecard |
| Sibling waiver | Proof that both students are biological siblings with the same parents, and the sibling's enrolment |
| Single girl child | Municipal declaration as required |
| Defence concession | Service or discharge record, or employer letter of the parent |
| Sports excellence | Regional, state or national title certificates, checked by the athletic board |
| Chairman's Merit Fund | Verified family income proof under ₹7 lakh |
How Renewal Works in Year 2 and Beyond
Getting a scholarship is one thing, and keeping it is another. At the end of each year, Mangalmay checks three things: that you have no backlogs, that your attendance meets the college rule, and that your CGPA is at or above the stream's marker, usually between 7.5 and 8.0. A clean discipline record counts too. If you miss any one of these, the waiver can stop from the following year. Students who didn't get an entry waiver can still earn an Academic Renewal Concession later if they do very well in university exams.
Who Qualifies for the Chairman's Merit Fund?
The fund is intended for students who are clearly talented but held back by money. Mangalmay names three groups: high achievers from rural areas, first-generation learners, and single-earner households. Your family income has to be below ₹7 lakh a year, and it gets verified. If you fit, say so clearly in your application and bring income proof to the counselling desk.
Scholarship vs Total Cost
Suppose you receive a 25% merit waiver in B.Tech. Your tuition drops from ₹5,16,000 to ₹3,87,000. If you live in a 3-seater hostel for four years, add ₹4,00,000, which brings the total to about ₹7,87,000 before exam fees. That's still well below the full-fee figure of ₹9,16,000, but hostel now accounts for half of your bill.
