GNIOT Cutoff 2026: B.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Tech Eligibility and Minimum Marks
GNIOT Cutoff 2026 at a Glance
GNIOT does not publish a fixed cutoff list. For B.Tech, your seat depends on your UPTAC counselling rank and branch choice, and you need at least 45% in Class 12 with Physics and Maths (40% for SC/ST). For MBA and MCA the minimum is 50% in graduation (45% for SC/ST), and M.Tech needs 60% in B.E. or B.Tech. These minimum marks are the real cutoff you must clear before anything else.

What Cutoff Means at GNIOT
At GNIOT, "cutoff" means two things. The first is the minimum marks above, which every student must have. The second is the closing rank in UPTAC counselling for B.Tech, which moves every year with the round, your category and how many students want that branch. GNIOT does not announce a fixed rank or percentile, so do not trust unofficial predictions as a guarantee.
GNIOT B.Tech Cutoff 2026
For first-year B.Tech, you must pass Class 12 from a recognised board with Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects, along with Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or a technical vocational subject. You need 45% aggregate in these subjects if you are General or OBC, and 40% if you are SC or ST. Grace marks are not counted.
B.Tech Eligibility Details
- •Compulsory subjects: Physics and Mathematics.
- •Third subject: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology or a technical vocational subject.
- •Minimum: 45% aggregate for General / OBC, 40% for SC / ST.

How UPTAC Decides Your B.Tech Seat
UPTAC allots GNIOT seats round by round. Your JEE Main or CUET rank, your category and the order of your choices decide where you land. A rank that misses CSE in round one may get it in a later round when other students leave seats. If you have no entrance score, ask GNIOT about direct admission under AKTU norms.
- •Register on the UPTAC portal with your JEE Main or CUET score.
- •Add GNIOT (College Code 132) and your preferred branches to your choice list.
- •Check the allotment after each round and decide whether to freeze or float.
- •Report to GNIOT with your allotment letter and documents.

Tips to Get a GNIOT Seat
Meeting the minimum marks is the first step. These tips help with the rest.
What You Can Do
- •Check your Class 12 PCM aggregate without grace marks before counselling.
- •Put several GNIOT branches in your UPTAC choice list, along with CSE.
- •Track every UPTAC round, since seats open up when other students leave.
- •For MBA, take more than one exam (CAT, MAT, CMAT or CUET-PG) to widen your options.
- •If you have no entrance score, ask about direct admission under AKTU norms.
- •Keep your category and domicile certificates ready, especially for lateral entry.
Choosing Between CSE and Core Branches
If your rank misses CSE, the AI, Data Science and Cyber Security branches cost the same Rs 7,05,000 and lead to similar software and data roles. If you prefer hardware or core work, ECE, Mechanical, Civil and Electrical cost Rs 4,65,000, which saves Rs 2,40,000 over four years. A Civil student from GNIOT was recently hired by RoadVision ai at 4.00 LPA.
What You Pay After Clearing the GNIOT Cutoff

How to Read GNIOT Cutoff Predictions Online
Many websites post expected GNIOT cutoff ranks. Treat them as rough guides only. GNIOT itself publishes minimum marks, not closing ranks, and UPTAC closing ranks change every round.
Before You Trust a Cutoff Number
- •Check if the number is for GNIOT Engineering (Code 132) or another college with a similar name.
- •Check the year and the counselling round it refers to.
- •Check the category and quota, since closing ranks differ for each.
- •Remember that direct admission under AKTU norms is a separate route.
- •Confirm with the official UPTAC notice or the GNIOT admission office.
