How GNIOT Admission Works

There is no single admission process for every GNIOT course. Here is how it breaks down.

AKTU courses such as B.Tech follow the UPTAC counselling process. Your JEE Main or CUET rank decides the round and branch you get.

GNIOT also fills seats through institute-level or direct admission under AKTU norms, often called the management quota.

MBA and PGDM use entrance scores, graduation marks and, for some seats, a group discussion and personal interview.

Law, nursing and pharmacy follow the eligibility rules of their councils, so their process is separate.

Lateral entry has its own eligibility for diploma and B.Sc holders.

Grace marks in Physics or Maths do not count for B.Tech eligibility.

Entrance Exams Accepted at GNIOT

Each course group has its own selection route.

GNIOT Application Process 2026-27

The process has three stages. First you register and apply, either on the GNIOT portal or through UPTAC counselling. Then you clear the selection step for your course. Finally you accept the offer, pay the fee and complete enrolment on campus.

Step 1: Registering and Applying

Start by choosing the right institute and course.

  1. Check the exact institute, course, eligibility, fee and seat status.
  2. For B.Tech, register on the UPTAC counselling portal and add GNIOT to your choices.
  3. For other courses, apply on the GNIOT application portal.
  4. Enter your academic details and entrance score correctly.
  5. Upload your documents and save the application number.

Documents Required for GNIOT Admission

Keep these ready before you apply.

  • Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets
  • Graduation mark sheets (for MBA, MCA, M.Tech and LL.B.)
  • Diploma mark sheets (for lateral entry)
  • JEE Main, CUET, CAT, MAT, CMAT or other scorecard
  • UPTAC allotment letter (for B.Tech counselling seats)
  • Identity proof and passport-size photographs
  • Category or domicile certificate, if it applies
  • Income certificate for EWS or scholarship claims

Step 2: Selection and Counselling

B.Tech candidates go through UPTAC rounds, where seats are allotted by rank, category and branch choice. MBA and PGDM candidates are shortlisted on entrance scores and graduation marks, and may face a group discussion and personal interview. For other courses, the institute reviews your merit and eligibility.

Step 3: Confirming Your Seat

Once you get an offer or allotment, pay the fee before the deadline given in the offer letter. Read the letter for payment dates, refund rules and hostel terms. Then submit your original documents for verification and finish enrolment at the institute. First-year B.Tech students should also book a hostel room, since hostel is compulsory for them.

How UPTAC Counselling Works for GNIOT B.Tech

UPTAC is the counselling process for AKTU-affiliated colleges in Uttar Pradesh, and GNIOT's engineering institute takes part in it under College Code 132. You register on the UPTAC portal with your JEE Main or CUET score, pay the counselling fee, and fill a list of college and branch choices. Seats are allotted in rounds based on your rank, category and choices.

If you get a GNIOT seat, you can freeze it or float it to try for a better branch in the next round. Once you freeze, you report to the institute with your allotment letter and documents. Students who miss counselling or do not have an entrance score can still ask about direct admission under AKTU norms.

Put GNIOT's code 132 in your UPTAC choice list if you want an engineering seat here. The MBA institute uses code 272.
